Jamboree Troop 603

We’re excited for Monday.  We know this is an early one but we have a lot to do in 2 hours before we leave. We encourage all parents who can climb out of bed that early in the morning to join your son for a send off breakfast.

The following important information from Scoutmaster Russ:

The schedule for Monday morning is as follows:

5:30 a.m. Meet at Chevez Chapel for travel bag check, tour hat distribution, totem distribution, uniform inspection.

NOTE: At this point it will be too late to “go and get” anything missing or to sew on patches.  Parents please pre-screen the bags to make sure the following items are NOT in the possession of the boy or in his bag.

·         Ballcaps or Hat that are not Official BSA. You will only wear the troops travel Cap on the trip and official BSA caps at the Jamboree

·         T-shirts that are not BSA approved.  Class A Uniforms only on the trip. Could keep a class B for evenings in the hotel room.

·         Basketball shorts or other non BSA attire.  Pajama bottoms could be shorts but you won’t wear them except for bed.

·         Ipods, mp3’s, gameboys, radios, etc.

·         CELL PHONES

DO:

·         Make sure Class A uniforms do have patrol patches (except senior patrol), current rank advancement, Jamboree participant patch, Khaki shoulder loops.

·         Iron on name label is on everything. Where that won’t work use a permanent marker.

6:00 a.m. Breakfast is served.  The food committee will serve a hearty breakfast. Parents can also eat with us.  Many thanks to the food committee for all their great help. The boys will not eat dinner until 6:30 p.m. that night so we’ll provide some snacks to take on the plane.  Airplane snacks just don’t cut it.

6:45 a.m.  Group picture on the lawn.

7:00 a.m. Load vehicles. Our great Committee Chairman Clint Bennion is working on getting a few parents that can help carpool some patrols to the airport. Those that are driving should have their cars lined up on the east side of the east parking lot facing the street so we can get in and go when were done with pictures.

7:15 a.m. Say goodbye to mom and dad. Depart parking lot for the Salt Lake International Airport.

Well have another couple of emails coming out this week and through the weekend with more information including how to follow us pictorially on our trip. Our Troop website will play a big part in that!

See you Monday,
